It’s fitting that LifeSmiles Dental owes most of its success to word-of-mouth referrals. Dentist Dr. Elma So and her team carry out their gentle handiwork in a spa-like space. “Our goal was to create a zen-like environment to help create a relaxing dental experience,” says Dr. So of her southwest practice, launched in 2000. Warm, earthy decor, abundant natural light and sunny, caring staff reflect this goal. “We try to make our patients as comfortable as possible,” says general manager Ken Seah. "I think our staff are really good with connecting with our patients. Each person is important from the moment he or she comes in to the moment he or she leaves.”

“Dr. So not only has gentle hands but a gentle caring nature that makes everyone feel welcome," adds dental assistant Jill Hallborg.
