Any parent will tell you that it doesn’t take much to get a child dancing through the living room, whether it’s to a top-40 hit on the radio or just the music in side their head. At Vanleena Dance Academy, they aim to tap into this natural tendency and turn it into fun learning experience.
The Academy offers courses in dance to over 300 kids at its North Vancouver location. The foundation of the school's curriculum is ballet, but there are also classes in jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, tap and lyrical. The colourful bright space on Welch Street is full of energy. Pianos sit in the corners of the four studios and costumes overflow from coat hooks. A dozen beautiful paintings adorn the walls of the studios and hallways.
