Dr. Scammel is the rudest man I have ever met. He is the worst vet I have ever had the displeasure of encountering and I've helped at, worked, and brought my pets to many clinics in Winnipeg. He charges far too much, rushes his clients, and has favourite clients. The techs are wonderful, I don't understand how they deal with him. He misdiagnosed my pet and talked to me like I didn't need to understand how or why my animal was sick. He has a problem with power and is quite the snob.

Having been a pet owner most of my 49 years, I have been to many different vets. The staff members at Rivers are by far the most caring, compassionate, and respectful people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. We recently had to euthanize our 14 year old dog after finding out she had cancer. It was by far the most difficult decision we have ever had to make, but due to Dr David Scammell she was able to die with dignity. Dr Scammell treated her with respect, and didn't make her seem like, 'just another animal'. We have 2 other dogs, one who is 5 and the other who is 18 months, and I would not consider going to any other vet under any circumstances.
