Devotees of Indian food rightly praise its nutritional value, while the economy-minded like the pricing. We met that crossroads of healthy eating and good pricing again at Shehnai, a small eatery near Main Street West and Dundurn Street East on two visits.
I regularly visit Shehnai's. Its the Indian restaurant that suits me best in Hamilton. It has a fine-quality lunch buffet, and superb dinner fare. I have been transported by their mulligatawny soup, or obsessed with their butter-chicken. I find I have a British palatte when it comes to spice, and their hand on the spices suits me just fine, though I am sure they can spice it up to order.
Attentive, if a bit distant, service.
The last time we were there the waiter brought our food to another table who had just came in. They started eating, then he realize his mistake, took it off their table and brought it to us! I'll most likely go back because I do enjoy the food and my favourite indian place closed.
