Absolutely awesome!!! Dave and Julie (the owners) are extremely friendly. The sandwiches are the best in Durham in our opinion. We love to sit in and eat our sandwiches to enjoy the feeling of home environment. An order of olives compliments our meal wonderfully. The sauce is wonderful and we have bought it to take home. On occassion we try other items on the menu and have never been disappointed. We are weekly regulars at Sinatra's and encourage everyone to give it a try. Excellent value for the price.
went there for lunch after being told by a friend and it was great..the place was busy and the owners were very friendly..food was great and everything was homemade - i will be back and so will my friends
Sinatras is a fantastic substitute for lunch at any of the fast food chains, especially if you're still eating crappy subs from Subway or Mr. Sub. Having said that, they need to tweak the sauce, and give it more flavor. And like another reviewer said, the mushrooms are really bad. I had them on my first veal sandwhich, and had to pull them out. Bottom line, they make make good sandwhiches, and you won't be hungry when you finish lunch. For the price, you'd be silly to eat at Subway or Mr. Sub. I always get takeout, btu the place is totally fine for eat-in. It used to be a Country Time donuts at some point in the past. Just think they're getting carried away when they say the sandwhiches are "perfection"..
The sandwich itself was tasty but like Todd has stated in his review that the veal is sliced very thin and is overwhelmed by the breading. The sandwiches are large and filling but you are getting a large portion of breading with each slice of veal placed on the bun. I am not a fan of being nickeled and dimed for additional toppings either. A slice of cheese adds $1 to the price of an already fairly expensive sandwich. Mushrooms etc. also add to the price.... At least hot and sweet peppers are no charge.... Overall tasty, but expensive for what you get.
went there for lunch based on the reviews. was not impressed at all. Had the grilled veggie sandwich; it was not grilled ;at best steamed. ended up with soggy vegetables which included mushrooms out of a can!!!! when the owner asked how we liked our meal , I said I was not happy and she said it was my fault because I did not put their tomato sauce on my sandwich. If a sauce is required in order to make it taste good - then you know it's not good. The sauce would not have "grilled" the veggies nor have made the mushrooms fresh. The only person in our party who enjoyed their meal was the one who put lots of extras on their veal sandwich. Obviously the sandwiches cannot stand alone. Both Avanti's and sopprafinos have grilled veggies on a bread with salad and those, for a comparable price are much better!!
