Gateway Restaurant invites you to their dining room. Their atmosphere has been described as family friendly. They are open after-hours all week and are easily reachable by car. Payments by gift certificates, Interac and Visa are accepted.
We (myself and my daughters) stopped by on route from the Ottawa to home (Hamilton) on Sunday August 8th to order take out. Our family has stopped at the Gateway Restaurant for decades to enjoy their always delicious family style meals. We ordered club sandwich platters and a BLT platter- sooooo delicious as always. The staff provided the utmost attention to care with preparing our takeout food under the covid precautions. Until our next trip and thank you.
This is a great little restaurant!!! My friend and I were driving through Tweed on our way to Ottawa and we stopped at this quaint little restaurant for lunch. I ordered the souvlaki in a pita and my friend had a burger with fries....The food was delicious, the service was courteous & freindly and the atmosphese was very welcoming. I would definitely go back whenever I'm travelling through the area.
One member of our party recommended this restaurant for their "hot sandwiches". And it was well worth our visit. This is a great family-run restaurant and you can tell by the quantity of locals as customers that you have chosen a good place.

On this occasion my chicken was very undercooked. On another occasion the waitress said she would be right back to refill our coffee and never returned. I also asked for a glass of water and never recieved it. The food is mediocre at best (when it's cooked!), the service is aweful, the atmosphere is dismal. I do not reccomend this restaurant.
