Jean-Philippe Boivin and Simon Poulin were tea lovers on the hunt for a business idea.

When they graduated from HEC, boutique-style teashops were flooding the marketplace and selling a near-endless variety of high quality teas by the bag. What struck Simon and Jean-Philippe was what they weren't seeing: a nice, comfortable place to sit and enjoy a cup of tea. So they set out to create just such a place.

For nearly a year, Simon and Jean-Philippe researched and planned, tasting thousands of teas in the process and working with suppliers to create blends that matched their aspirations. In June of 2013, their idea saw the light of day in a small cozy space on Guy Street, just steps away from Concordia University. With its warm and cozy vibe, delicious drinks and purple cups, Hestia is reinventing tea.
