This tiny restaurant has been owned and operated by the Gee family since 1942. This old-fashioned diner serves a mix of Chinese staples and simple Canadian fare at budget friendly prices, and its no-frills approach has kept customers coming back for decades! Picked as one of the 50 things that define Edmonton, this is as much a monument as it is an eatery. A must try, for sure!
Recently chosen by the Food Network as one of the 12 Best Greasy Spoons in Canada, the Commodore is a great place to get breakfast (or lunch) alone any day of the week. Grab a stool and immerse yourself in the action at one of their retro bars or make yourself at home at a quiet table at the back. But, don’t forget to hit the bank beforehand - this diner takes cash only.
The Commodore Restaurant is a great little diner tucked away on Jasper Avenue. It’s packed to the ceiling with people on the weekends, but during the week there’s usually plenty of tables to camp out at for a few hours to get some work done. Don’t plan to stick around all day because the diner closes early and there aren’t any power outlets. However, the Wi-Fi is free and the food is delicious and cheap.
