“I love my job, and I love meeting all the different people,” says Azzi, owner of Azzi Hair Studio. “I love to create new styles, new haircuts. I have fun.”

Her passion is evident, for the cutting and styling itself as well as for the growing community she finds herself in atop Burnaby Mountain, at Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby campus. Azzi's easy rapport with customers and eagerness to meet new people from all walks of life has made Azzi Hair Studio a favourite for students, staff and new residents popping up around the university.

“People love our fun, relaxing atmosphere,” Azzi explains, “and it gives us a good feeling if we can make them feel better about themselves by changing their hair or their look, or having a massage or spa treatment.” With a wide array of services designed to pamper, de-stress and beautify, Azzi Hair Studio is perfectly designed to brighten the day of stressed students and others harried by the daily grind.

“If we can make them feel better when they’re under a lot of stress,” Azzi continues, “if they can come and leave re-energized, feeling good about themselves, that makes us very happy.”
