Too much for too little

Had check engine light on. Researching on line guessed it was the Evap. Purge Valve. Brought to Fines to confirm. Waited two days for appointment and as the shop was behind they provided a loaner unable to check the code. Check would have taken about 20 minutes. Quoted $200 for diagnostic. To fix was quoted $480 for the part, labor and a charge to clear the codes on top of the $200 diagnostic. Felt this was way too much. Purchased part at NAPA for $90 and replaced in 20 minutes. Will not return.

The mechanic did a fantastic job! He took his time and did the job right! I have total respect for someone like that. Thanks!
