Excellent - lamb was excellent
We went there for dinner a few days ago and it took them an hour to start serving the starters. They looked really busy, thus we expected them to inform us about the waiting times. After they missed one meal we ordered, we agreed to share between us (lets put it on the some sort of misunderstanding of our accent). Also, the garlic oil from the menu didn't have ANY garlic in it. Staff wasn't welcoming and kept saying our food is coming shortly, until we insisted we were given an exact waiting tim
One of the best dining experiences. Visiting from Ottawa and had Buell St. recommended by B&B owner. Tordelli pasta was superb, and escargots were the best I've ever had - tender & flavourful. To 010645, if you ordered the escargots and didn't find any mushrooms, perhaps you should have really read the menu before ordering. The planked salmon was moist and tender and the lamb was out of this world. Jarringly, the only word for the peach crisp is vile but the creme brulee went down waaaaaaay too easily. Will definitely come back!
My guests have always came back more then satisfied. I am the owner and operator of The Brockville Victoria Inn and I recommend my guests to eat at The Buell Street Bistro.
We read the reviews and decided to meet friends from Ottawa at the Buell. Our error. The escargots for example I thought were to be on mushrooms. No. I had to search but did find a thin slice of a mushroom. One guest and I both found the butter watery and lacked garlic. As for an entre, there was little good to say. Phrases such as over cooked lamb; hard salmon lacking meat; recycled chicken apply. Sorry to be so critical. My wife says that she ordered the cedar planked salmon, but received the plank. We were so put off that we did not order coffee or dessert in order to avoid further dissatisfaction.
I have been to The Buell St Bistro on many occasions and have NEVER been disappointed. The food is fresh and made from scatch when you order- even the pasta sauces. I know this because my wife has many severe food allergies and the kitchen is always able to accommodate her needs at ease by preparing 'special' meals and sauces for her. They also have a homemade chocolate torte on the dessert menu which is gluton and dairy free- and is delicious -this definitely puts a smile on my wife's face. This is by far the best restaurant in Brockville if you are looking for quality food, beautiful atmosphere, and inviting, amiable service.
Everything was fantastic at the Buell Street Bistro. We sat on the patio and were impressed from the moment we arrived. The patio is away from the road and has a courtyard feel with twinkling lights in the trees, a fountain and lots of flowers. A real gem in a small town like Brockville. The food was served hot and delicious. The service was well paced and the server was very pleasant. Price is very reasonable for what you get. We are new to town and love to eat at good restaurants. When we asked people in Brockville where we should go to eat, they almost invariably said ''at the Buell Street Bistro'' and they were right! We will most definatly be back.
The escargot was pretty decent and mom's steak looked good. My "rack of lamb" was not a rack at all but 6 thin over cooked chops. The asparagus that came as part of our veggies was sour. Pretty mediocore for the price. Keep going back but am usually disappointed. Think this was my last time.
We go here often, and have never had a bad experience. This is what a restaurant should be - a welcome change from the "cookie cutter" chains uptown. It has a great vegetarian selection, and the dishes with meat are well cooked and seasoned. Try the garlic bread, have dessert. Just go.
They served a party of over 20 people. The customer service was excellent. Kudos to the kitchen staff and waitress for their exceptional care to ensure the safety of our son who has life threatening allergies. They prepared our food with extreme care and took significant measure to ensure that our sons food was safe. We have eaten at many restaurants with our son and none compares to the level of service provided by the staff at this restaurant. We would highly recommend this eating establishment to anyone visting Brockville and look forward to returning for another meal in the near future.
It was excellent food, for a small town, its the best. However in a big city, it may not do as well. I recommend this type of dining to anyone looking for food that is satisfying and you pay what you get for.
This place was amazing. I had the salmon special that was really rasonable $14.95 including soup or salad. The jazz trio that was playing was great. Nice background music not too loud. The restaurant was really busy with Christmas parties, but the service was fast and courtious. All of the people in my party loved the food. I'll definatly be back
I've been to this place three times, and each time everything was perfect. The steak!!!! Oh my god the steak!!!!!! Brockville's finest restaurant, as far as I'm concerned.
The food is exceptional and so is the price for the quantity and quality of food/service received.
The sous-chef there, shawn cooked our meal perfectly . Buell St. is clearly the place to go.
Fantastic food, I can't say enough about it. The Indonesian chicken and shrimp was just awesome, spicy and flavourful. I'd eat there again in a second. So much better than the chain restaurants littering the city.

The bathrooms could use the renovations that are indicated on a sign that has been posted for several years along with a cleaning. Could use a touch-up other wise also. Nice selection of daily specials, staff was knowledgeable
