This place is an authentic Irish pub. Certainly a great place to order food and have a few pints in Port Credit. I've been coming here for years. In the last year they updated their menu. They have a killer openfaced steak sandwich with brie cheese. It's seriously to die for. Also their house salad dressings are pretty good as well. Wish they carried a few more local beers on their draft list, but you will not be disappointed with the selection. Also, great Halloween party every year.
We visit the Brogue almost every week for their fire & ice wings & beer. Everything we've ordered has been really tasty, and served in a timely manner. Love the people, service & atmosphere. Great place to visit with friends (as you can actually hold a conversation without music drowning you out).
First time in Port Credit and we were told to visit the Brogue Inn. The decor is great. We sat in the bar area and Shannon was our server. She was very knowledgable about the menu and the types of wine my wife and her friend wanted to order. The potato skins were great as they were fresh and not frozen. The steak was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the fact there were not too many young people. They tend to ruin ur dining experience. We ended our meals with a Brogue Coffee offered by Shannon as a pub favourite. We will definately be back and was very happy to hear the Brogue Inn is available for parties and functions. 2 thumbs up for the entire package.
We were advised ahead on time that because we were going to be a party larger than 8 that we would be getting one bill for the table with a mandatory 15% gratuity charge tacked on to the total. That was fine until they took it as a licence to provide bad service. The garlic bread came out badly burnt. When the steak was ordered, our friend asked to have it medium...this just confused our server as she went on to say "well it' 8oz...so it's pretty medium, it's not very big" When the server brought out what was supposed to be the Salmon dish she said "Here's your sword fish" our friend that ordered the salmon reminded her that he had ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes not swordfish with veggies...so the server takes a step back, spins around and says "this is Salmon" puts the plate down and walks away. Then comes back and takes the plate away and says "no...it's not salmon" and gives the plate to another table...good thing our friend hadn't touched it yet as she didn't check. My fish and chips were nothing extraordinary...just average fish and chips. The server forgot about the horseradish that was ordered for the steak, and had this happened at a busy time we wouldn't have minded. The place was fairly empty with the exception of a few seniors. Overall the service was below average, the food was nothing special but did they ever pour a great pint of Guinness!
This place rocks. Ignore the reviews that talk about bad service as my hunch is that these people had an axe to grind for one reason or another. If you can't get along in here then you should see a therapist. I hold all of my business meetings here.
This place rocks, we had a great meal, authentic Irish service too. The best part of the night was the music, a young guy named "David" was playing with his band. He took the time to come up to our table and say hi and chat, even though there was a big party going on (which we weren't a part of) my wife and I ended up buying his CD and we both aren't going to be surprised if he ends up big one day, very good entertainer and takes the times to chat to people, very cool! I also recommend the Fish and Chips, very tasty.
I really like the atmosphere at the Brogue. The staff is always friendly and chat to you like an old friend. The portion sizes are really large - especially the glasses of wine!!! The chicken penne was great. My husband had the Fish and Chips - what a great pub favorite. Light and tasty. I will go back there again!
This was first visit to the Brogue Inn. The food was overpriced for pub food. The service was terrible. I asked for a drink twice, and finally I went across the restaurant to the bar to pay cash for my own drink. The bartender couldn't make change! I will not eat here again.
I am a regular at the Brogue and we go back time and time again. I have lived in Port Credit for many years and in defense of the pub to other customers who were thrown out because they were under 25, is not any fault of the Brogue we have a couple of functions in town throughout the year that the Village determines you have to be 25 to enter the drinking establishments. It is sad they came at this time because I take my nephews and neices and my own kids all the time as the air is very relaxed with awesome peole.
Absolutely amazing. Food was piping hot, portions were large, and overall was delicious.
I've been there now both for dinner and have ate breakfast there as well. I've always found the staff to be very courteous and well-informed regarding the food. Both the dinner and the breakfasts i've had there have been way above par. And i would certainly recommend it to anyone with an appetite for good food. and you don't have to break the bank to dine there.
My husband and I sat at the bar and enjoyed good conversation with the female bartender. We loved the prime rib and recommend it to anyone wanting a good size of meat and even though we eat our meat well done it was not dried out and still tender. Anyone coming in alone or with another person, sit at the bar and the staff are all talkative and you know they enjoy your presence as much as you enjoy theirs!! We came all the way from Brampton and it was worth teh trip!! 2 thumbs up!!!!
I have eaten here more than once. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the service is impeccable and the food is not only savoury but quite possibly the best meals I've ever had.
We had our first experience at The Brogue Inn for breakfast. We found the prices reasonable. The Eggs Benedict was fabulous, along with the Irish Breakfast, which satisfied a hunger man. All the food items were hot. Service was great. We look forward to The Brogue's first Oktoberfest!
We visit The Brogue often and enjoy the atmosphere. The wait staff is consistently pleasant and attentive. Our favourite is Mary who never fails to stop by for a chat and has a ready smile. The food is exactly what you would expect for pub fare and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable.
Food was cold, no offer made to correct our concerns... They do not understand service, never mind how to spell it!!
This past Sunday, my girlfriend was celebrating a birthday, we had decided to visit and have dinner at the brogue inn, we were a party of 8, (age range 20 - 32 yrs) and the restaurant was not busy, it was around 9:00pm The first group to arrive at the restaurant were actually seated!!!! and were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, the waitress had even started to set the table, cutlery etc.... about five minutes later, she came back and told them that they were not allowed to stay, and had to leave, because a couple of them were under the age of 25. I was part of the second group to arrive and was absolutey shocked to hear that they were asked to leave. Now I've never heard of an age restriction to eat food, I mean to drink alcohol, you only have to be 19!!! but to eat you have to be 25???? completley ridiculous!! I was very upset with this, and it certainly put our group in a pretty bad mood. If this is in fact a rule for the brogue inn, (under 25) then at the very least they could post the "age restriction" on the front door, to prevent any confusion, or in our case, the embarassment of having been asked to leave. I cant possibly reccomend the brogue inn to anyone. What if they have kids under the age of 25??????? in fact i've been telling my story to anyone who will listen. Again very dissapointing, and I feel that this is a case of age discrimination.
The weekend started out great, drove up from Niagara falls for a nice dinner and a few drinks... i was very suprised when a waitress came over and imformed my other party and i that we were not to be served... as per we were only 21. This was a huge inconveince to us and we were rather offended..a dinner and night on the town for us is always good mature times..and we do spend MONEY! needless to say it put a huge damper on our whole port credit experience.. so i phoned my family who was comming to meet us and explained the situation and both of my parents as well as grandparents.. agreed with me that this was unfare, and they would not be dinning there either. We decided to go back to where we were welcome and spend our money where we were treated right! Needless to say our bill was just under 400$ And we will NEVER VISIT the Brogue in our life time!
