Very fresh, Very good

This restaurant has excellent sushi. The fish is so fresh and very high quality. The ratio of fish to rice is perfect. I've been eating there since it opened and their quality and great service have been consistent since day 1. Our "go to" meal for two is the medium Sushi Moriawase which is a 30 piece assortment of sushi and maki, a small salad and miso soup. I find the value for the money very good at $30 for two (+ tax and tip). I'm thankful they opened so close to home so I can get a good sushi fix whenever I need one!

Good, fresh food with very friendly service. Waiteress didn't speak English very well but was very nice. Not the best sushi place in Toronto, but definately the best in Oakville.

Very friendly service and reasonable prices. The lunch specials make a great quick lunch. This place is my new choice for a convenient takeout meal.

Amazing Food

Exceptional, yet Pricy!!!!! But worth every penny. A small Japan in Canada. Authentic, delicious, THE SAME EVERY TIME! Any sushi lover should make a trip here. Mouth watering just thinking of their food.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! so i've read all these great reviews and i decided to go one day by myself at lunch to bench the quality and quantity of the food before i recommend it to my colleagues since we were trying to find a GOOD japanese retaurant close to our work. anyway, i left STARVING and had to buy a sub cause i was so hungry. don't get me wrong, the food was decent, the service was excellent, but when my food came, i thought it was an hors d'oeuvres, i ordered a sashimi and sushi combo and the thickness of the fish was no more than 5mm for BOTH and i'm not even exaggerating. $17 (including tax and tip) is not worth it at all.. i know it's supposed to be lunch portion but i have never seen it so small in any jap restaurant in any country! i'm hoping someone would tell me the dinner portinos are completely different cause i was really wishful of this place being the one!

Authetic Japanese food

I am not kidding. This is the first time I hear Japanese spoken among the staff at a Japanese restaurant. The others I have been to, spoke mainly Cantonese and Mandarin. That heightened my expectation. And they did not disappoint. The service was ernest, the food was great. The taste of the sushi was comparable to what you can get in Japan. No, even better than those served in big hotel restaurants in Japan. They should move out of the inconspicuous location. Their food deserves better.

My boyfriend and me go here about once a week. We both love it! The food is the best I have had in all the GTA, the atmosphere is nice and clean and the service is great. We have brought quite a few people here who have never tried sushi for their first experiences and now they all go on their own and love it too! I highly recommend this restaurant!

i love niwa. the place was decorated so nicely, the food was really good. the prices may seem expensive, but you get a lot for your order. it comes with a house salad, miso soup, rice, and fruit.

We enjoy Niwa's amazing sushi at least once a month...there is no better sushi in Oakville. The staff is very courteous and the care that they put in preparing the dishes is evident. We often call ahead for take away, and the order is always waiting for us when we get there, often with an extra soup or salad added as a bonus. Go to Niwa, you will leave full and happy!

Went there three times in January. The sushi is outstanding. The food is a good value. (One small weakness: They overdo it on Japanese mayo and crunchy stuff.) The service is always VERY friendly, but a couple of times somewhat slow. When it got crowded they had trouble keeping up.
