I go to a lot of sushi places and happen to always pass by this one but never tried it. BIIG MISTAKE! The sushi did not taste very fresh and left the worst taste in my mouth( i got the spicy salmon roll). The food didn't even look appetizing. This was the worst sushi i have ever EVER had. I couldn't even finish the 6 pieces they gave me. The restaurant it self was in rough shape, it was very dirty and run down. DO NOT GO HERE FOR SUSHI!! there is many other fantastic places to choose from that are only 2 mins away

Used to love this place. Went for birthdays and anniversaries. But, then I noticed for lunch, the menu was different from the picture outside (missing sushi rolls when ordered). Said that was an opening special years ago. I suggested they change the sign since it was outdated and the advertising outside was not accurate. They were upset and got into a big debate over it. I phoned to complain about the rude customer service. After finally getting my phone call returned (3 days later), I politely made my complaint. The manager apologized, but it was too late.
This place is the place to eat at. I enjoy the food there and have come to love the employees there. They always put a smile on my face and prepare my food in quick manner. I recommend this place to everyone exspecially for the size and portion of the Rolls I listed about. Great portion for a great price! They are very nice people, and I look forward to seeing them tonight. Skydome Shrimp Roll here I come. Great way to start the weekend off, it's like heaven rolled up into a delicious roll.

This is my favorite sushi place!!!!!! They are so fast, and very friendly! I have gone to other places but they just don't compare! I recommend people to go here all the thime and the love it as well
We have frequented this wonderful, cosy family restaurant over the past few years and have always found the staff friendly and polite and the food exquisite!
I follow a special diet on doctors orders. Usually I have no problem at Japanese places, but here, there were no special orders, no substitutions, no special requests.
Service was rude. We were told that we had to sit at the table assigned, even though the place was nearly empty.

Food is good but I find they are skimpy with the portions. I ordered the salmon dinner box. The salmon piece was so small which sat on a bed of bean sprouts and let me tell you they were not skimpy on the bean sprouts. My boyfriend ordered the chicken dinner box and his piece of chicken was thin and small. The gyoza roll is good. You don't get bang for you money here.
Our entire family have been loyal customers of the family that own the restaurant. Over the years we have probably spent thousands on eat-in as well as take out food at least 1-2 times a week. Sometimes more often than that.
On valentine's day, I arrived at 5:30pm for dinner, to meet a friend. My friend was not there, so I asked to use the phone and was told rudly... that the phone was busy. I went to my car and got my cell phone and called from the Sushi bar and made my call right in front of the owner. He listened to my conversation and asked when my friend would arrive. I answered in less than 5 minutes. Several people had come in after me and had been seated, while I sat on a stool at the bar. A booth became available and I asked the daughter if my friend and I could sit in the booth, since I had waited the longest and all the other patrons were seated at tables already. The daughter was about to seat me, when the father (the owner who'd heard me on the telephone) interrupted her and said something to the daughter in Korean. The daughter immediately went to a couple who had already been seated at a table and asked them if they would like to sit in the booth I had just requested. I explained to the owner that I had waited the longest of anyone and I had requested the booth. I left in protest and have not returned until very recently. The food has always been good and the owners were always very friendly until this incident. In fact, we were so friendly with them, that I had taken photos of his daughter, had an 8" x 11" colour print made and gave it to the daughter.
I guess some people just don't appreciate good customers until they are gone.
I have been a long time patron of this restaurant. They are very friendly, and the quality of the food is unmatched in my sushi dining experience.
I recently made the decision to go vegetarian. They have been wonderful about altering dishes on the menu to be vegetarian friendly.
To the person who said it was not an option, perhaps they simply were not asking the right questions.
They will make various 'rolls' out of vegetables on request, and swap out other components. For example the traditional bento box can easily consist of no meat teriyaki (extra vegetables), no shrimp tempura, extra vegetables instead, all rolls made with things such as: avacado, cucumber, pumpkin etc.
I do not know if they use a separate deep fryer for the tempura however - and a picky vegetarian/vegan will probably want to ask about that.
Paul and I have been going to Little Tokyo for many years, and it is the best sushi you can get in the area. The owners are very friendly and very quick to serve. I have nothing bad to say about this place - we plan to go for many more years to come!

This was an amazing little place. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is incredible. Me and my now fiance visit here very often, its actually where he proposed! The waiter was perfect, asking if we've tried sushi before, ensuring we're okay with raw food before suggesting and being very quick with everything while still giving us time to enjoy the experience without being bothered too much.
This was the first place I really had sushi and it has given me a true love of it.
I couldn't say anything bad about this if I tried.
This place isn't some extravigant intimidating restaurant. You don't need to dress up, you don't need to understand every word of Japenese to know what to order. It's little, it's comfortable, it's perfect. The food is great, the waiters/waitresses aren't pushy, or snippy. It's a great, simple place to eat.
