Gone are the days when clouds of hairspray rose above the hairstyles of the '80s to keep hair in place and erode the ozone layer. You can't help but think of that when you walk into Käaz on Laurier Avenue in Montreal. "When we started, we wanted to position ourselves as an environmentally responsible company," explains Pascale Villeneuve, one of the three co-owners of the salon. "That's why we use and sell Aveda products. They are made of herbal and essential oils and no chemicals or harmful substances."
Käaz is also a salon that annually raises funds as part of a campaign to support WaterCan, a charity that focuses on clean water and educates people in developing countries about hygiene.
