The story of La Finca began when Geneviève Loignon and Marie-Laurence Guindon became fed up with the corporate and routine environment of their professions. It was their shared passion for coffee, however, that pushed the accountant and the biologist to go into business. "Personally, for me, I feel the best in cafes," admits Geneviève, who had long dreamed of opening her own establishment. The duo decided to open an office-cafe and to start by travelling to learn everything about the world of coffee and being a barista. "We visited El Salvador to know how things really are in the plantations," says Geneviève.
The two entrepreneurs then took the time to develop a solid business plan and respond appropriately to market needs. "We realized there was an increasing demand for alternative work spaces in Montreal," continues Geneviève. The adventure took shape when they discovered a location at 1067 Bleury Street. La Finca office-cafe opened its doors on August 23, 2016.
