Based in Montreal, or more specifically in Verdun, is a designer who takes inspiration from all aspects of architecture. Cyrille Donné comes from a family of craftsmen and artists. So from an early age, he was exposed to various materials, arts and crafts, and gained an understanding of customer service.
His passion for beautiful things therefore developed naturally, leading him to enroll in interior architecture at the School of Fine Arts in France, to specialize in design and architecture. "I discovered a whole creative world where there was no barrier to creativity," says Cyrille.
Through his relationship with various designers and architects, Cyrille came to travel and land in Quebec. "Both architects and cabinet makers appreciated my portfolio," he recalls. Among other opportunities, Cyrille worked in a cabinet-making workshop and was involved in designing a store. One thing led to another and he picked up the interior design trade by practising it directly at a residential level.
Opening Octobre Design in 2001 came naturally; he had been feeling a growing need to move forward in order to experience different environments, interact with people, fine-tune his knowledge and put his talents to use, all without placing limitations on himself.
