A community centred restaurant with a southern charm, Meat is sister to The Next Act pub, just off Edmonton’s historic Whyte Avenue. They smoke all their delectable offerings in house daily from pulled pork and brisket to smoked chicken, Andouille sausage and daily meat specials. They have spectacular side dishes to complement their meats, such as boursin mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, green beans, an awesome house salad and garlic fries. Added bonus: They make their own in house barbecue sauces (my favourite is the cherry) and have an unparalleled bourbon list.

A Whyte Avenue landmark, Dadeo specializes in Cajun style cuisine and barbecue: Jambalaya, ribs and blackened catfish. Their po’ boys are the bomb, such as the Bayou burger, Philly cheese steak, blackened chicken and crab cake, to name a few. Dadeo has a cool, retro diner décor and is an adult-only establishment offering Alley Kat beer on tap and southern style cocktails.
