Monki was born in 2012 with a singular mission to help fellow Calgarians start their day off with a smile and a little deliciousness. For 5+ years, our passionate Monkis have embraced Calgary’s vibrant breakfast movement by bringing some fun, freshness and innovative twists to local breakfast classics. Our Mantra: Do brunch differently!
Our Monki squad have a passion for food that is incredibly contagious (in a good way). From eggs benedict to breakfast perogies to pancakes, we pride ourselves on sourcing incredible ingredients from like-minded local, artisanal producers. We serve this in an atmosphere that is eclectic & casual and sprinkled with a generous dose of friendliness & love.
We invite you to come join us, brunch it up and dance to music!

The room is small and the lines are always long, but this little breakfast joint has a cult following for good reason. Monki’s Benny game is particularly strong – go for the Spanish chorizo or the smoked ham, prawn and mascarpone. Also find a solid selection of frittatas and elevated breakfast basics.
With only a couple dozen seats, Monki is miniscule. That (along with the fact that they make a delicious brunch and don’t take reservations) accounts for a consistent lineup for seats. But it’s worth the wait. The exposed brick walls and hipster charm create a friendly feel, and the food – bennies, frittatas, paninis and other mid-day fare – is fresh and always tasty.
Beltline’s MONKI Breakfast Club and Bistro is a small, rustic eatery with friendly staff. The brick-walled space seats about 30, so be early or you’ll have to wait. Its breakfast entrees run from filling to light as you’d like, with many comfort-food choices. Meals include Benedicts, steak and eggs and one wicked banana-and-Frangelico-stuffed French toast. A large selection of hot and spicy sauces is available should you desire a little heat in the morning.
