Was surprised with the atmosphere...from the outside it doesn't really look like much but the interior is nicely decorated. Looks like it would be a good place for a date.
Service was below par for what I'm used to. It took almost 10 minutes to have our order taken, and the restaurant wasn't even full. Probably another 10 to 15 minutes to get our food. Although our server was friendly, I was not impressed with the speed of service.
Food was, well, just OK. Nothing horrible but nothing amazing either. I enjoyed the food but really, it doesn't stand out from the other Indian restaurants I've visited. My boyfriend on the other hand did not enjoy his meal. He said his dish was bland and not spicy at all. He originally was planning on ordering goat curry, which is not on the menu but the server assured us that the gosht masaladar is the same thing.
Final word: will not be going back.
The food is reasonably good. In Guelph, there are not too many choices. They would not survive 1 minute in Brampton.
Do not go with too many expectations, that way, the food does not disappoint you.
I've eaten in the restaurant a few times and always had excellent food and service, but mostly i have had take out. i have tried three dishes, butter chicken, Chicken Tikka masala and Chicken vindaloo and all three were cooked to perfection with amazing taste and flavour, but my all time favourite is the Chicken vindaloo, which although spicy has an amazing flavour. The service has always been excellent and very friendly. i have tried other indian restaurants in the area, including the greater Toronto area also and they do not even come close.
Diwa Classic Indian Cuisine has become a well-known place for its excellent quality of food, attentive service and ambience. Either it’s a Lunch Buffet or Fine Dinning, Diwa gives you the best experience. Try your self……………..
The best meal of our lives" was the consensus that I and my girlfriend came to. Also "a sensual dinning experience" and I personally felt as though I had never really tasted food before. A completely amazing experience.
The portions were generous. Continuous refills of water were provided as they were needed, which was often considering the spicy fair. The atmosphere was perfect, with beautiful décor and light music of many varieties having a subtle Indian flare.
At the end of the evening we got to meet the owner, who handled our check ($39.49)and had a lovely conversation with us for several minutes. We'll definitely be back.
