Am I the only person who thinks that this restaurant is highly over-rated? I haven't been back since going in September/05. The experience was decent, but not great... and definitely not half as great as all these other ratings imply! Perhaps I need to give it another try, but I remain unimpressed for now.
The wine was excellent but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired. The food was bland, the service unattentive and the decor only satisfactory. Would not visit again.
See above - not too impressed considering the other reviews. Service was slow and inattentive - a big negative right there. Food was inconsistent - some very good and some so-so. Our table was also given away and we had to sit at a bar stools/table (we were 5 mins late!). It was my birthday, but nothing special was given in spite of their knowing it. We asked for a dessert menu that never came, so we gave up after 20 mins of waiting for it and paid the bill and left. It was busy when we arrived but by dessert time, there were only a few of us left. Really not good enough.
Highly over-rated. Wine was over priced, even with the expected mark-up. Service was disjointed and slow. Atmosphere was nonexistant. Food was bland and boring. Wine selection was limited-for a medium priced bottle. I was not impressed when friends and family casually entered the kitchen area in street clothes. Nor when a friend's (family member's) baby seat(and baby)were placed on and over the food prep area, and over the food-acceptable (maybe) while dining in a pub, but not when you're paying over $100 for dinner.
This was the second time we have been, our first vist having been over a year ago. We will not make the same mistake a third time. I could have spent the $150 dollars much better elsewhere. Seems like only close freiends and family offer any positive feedback. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone...maybe only that they do not go.
