You might have seen the pink eggs benedict and rose-designed avocado toast on Instagram – yeah, this place makes some next level IG-worthy breakfast and brunch. But it’s worth stopping by just for the coffee, too, and a snack. Early Bird has great quality beans to choose from and interesting drinks – have you tried the charcoal cortado yet? You’ll often see people with their laptops here and who could blame them – it’s hard to leave. But if it’s seats you’re looking for, it’s best to get here early. Oh, and there is a sweet patio to boot.
Although its sleek Fashion District digs are about as cool as it gets (particularly the patio, a prime spot for a summertime hang with friends or daytime work spot), the menu at this downtown espresso bar is even more impressive. A revolving selection of beans from top-grade coffee roasters from around the world (whether it’s the Brooklyn-based Lofted Coffee or our home-grown Pilot Roasters) are accompanied by specialty drinks like the espresso tonic and cold brew coffee spouted from a Japanese machine you won’t find anywhere else in the city.
On Queen West, an area densely packed with cafés, Early Bird stands out from the rest – not just because of its exposed brick and hipster aesthetic, but because its patio can hold up to 20 people. The seating includes a picnic bench and more intimate, two-to-three person tables. All you need is some nibbles, cappuccinos and few friends, and you’re in business.
