heard amazing things about the pizza here so tried it out recently on a thurs nite...restaurant was super busy but the staff was very accommodating to our group of 12...instead of us pushing a bunch of tables together, they have huge wooden table covers that let big groups sit together...very unique...got a pitcher of rolling rock (hard to find in this city) and a huge pizza for under 30 bucks total...good vibe...great service and quality food...will def be back
The food at McMullen's is consistently top notch and is served up quickly; I can honestly say it is one of the few restaurants that I consider a favourite.
The service can be hit or miss at times but overall could be rated as "good". The pub boasts a nice patio, large menu, friendly staff/regulars and an excellent selection of both whiskey and beer.

We tried this place out because the reviews sounds great. The service (dark guy) was really good. It seemed he was the only waiter on duty and the place was packed. He did a great job.
The pizza....well......the bottom of the crust was moist/not crispy. It reminded us of McDonald's Pizza.
The spinach dip was runny and didn't have flavour. I ordered pitas with it instead of nachos. Big mistake. I almost chipped my tooth on the pita!!!!!
The only positive thing I can say about this place is....excellent Coors Light (bottle).

Yes, that pizza is very good. In fact likely the best in the city. The service is a bit slow, being there a few times it's never changed.

I live close, so I end up going to mcmullans occasionally, but it always makes me remember why I avoid it. The service is pretty bad. We asked for a sauce as we received our food. When we got the sauce, everyone was done eating. No apology at all. I'd like to say that was the only problem I've had, but it seems to be the standard there. There's often a line at the door though, so I guess they don't really worry about it too much
McMullans on King has the best pizza in the city! My boyfriend and i love trying new pizza every week but ever since we discovered this hidden gem this is the only pizza we ever want!
They also have a huge selection of beer on tap to choose from (20-25). But the best part is that you're not limited to only Molson or Labatt products. They carry local beers from Brick Brewery, as well as Big Rock! They also carry cider beer on tap which is hard to come by.
The service has always been quick, friendly and efficient and i would recommend to everyone that they try this place out.
I have eaten at McMullans numerous times. The food is quite delicious pub-style food, and the prices can't be beat. We have always had EXCELLENT service at this bar, regardless of how busy it is (and it is usually pretty busy!).
Do not let the drab outter appearance scare you off, this place is great!
After moving to Waterloo last year, McMullans has been our go-to spot. We always get their pizza and pitcher deal- great pizza! The combo platter is also great if you're with a big group and looking to share.
They have a ridiculous number of beers on tap and we've yet to find anywhere that sells beer for cheaper. The pool tables in the bar are a great addition and we've never had one complaint about the service-really friendly and accomodating. Overall, if you haven't been, definitely check it out. Always great times at McMullans!
Great food! Great Prices, and a wonderful atmosphere. We come to McMullan's often.. Its great after a baseball game for munchies and beer, or for a great dinner with friends.

The wife and I come here about once every couple of weeks. We get either the combo platter or the nachos - Both are amazing - as far as deep fried pub food can be :) They have a great selection of beer, and their soups and salads are not just your average selection of pub food. This is my one cheat for the month and we get the deep fried goodness :)
With a pitcher of steamwhistle (quite possibly my favourite beer ever!) and the combo plate, with tip comes to about $30.00. If you go at lunch (which we only ever get to) the bartender, Amber, is absolutly great!
If you want good beer, and pretty darn good prices, and just want something to snack on (especially while watching the oplympics) this is definately the place to go.
Great stop after an exhausting day of shopping. We were dying for a beer and some grub and this place hit the spot. The staff was friendly and the service was adequate. The nachos were great as was the burger and fries. Good pub atmosphere and good pub fare makes a good pub stop!
I was pleasantly surprised by McMullens yesterday. The patio is slightly below street level, but it's not directly on King St - so no traffic fumes or gawkers.
Chuck, the owner, told me to order their famous pizza. Although I wouldn't call it gourmet (the crust was a little too thick) the toppings were excellent and it was cooked perfectly. Yes, I have a thing for pizza :-)
I didn't eat inside (but I did take some pictures). It's clean, well decorated and has a nice vibe to it. I'm betting it's a great place to hang out on a Friday night after work. Ian, the chef, was happy to pose for me while he made my pizza.
All in all, the best thing McMullens has going for it is the patio. Of course, it was stinking hot the day I visited. A cold beer, good pizza and time just to relax were my priorities.
Would I visit again? You bet!
We enjoyed a warm sun filled lunch on the patio accompanied by a nice cold drink. The Peppercorn Penne was nice and was not swimming in alfredo sauce. Portion size was good with tasty grilled chicken.
The cheesecake was a good way to end the lunch. Only complaint would have been a larger sized piece.

The nachos are by far the best in the city. They have a nachos/beer pitcher combo for a good price. This place is awesome to go, get some drinks and nachos, play some pool and just hang out. I'd recommend it to any university student!

Absolutely terrible service at best, that was my third and final time going there. Every time i have been there the servers were very rude, the food took forever, and when it did arrive it was less than average.
