Amazing, authentic Polish food!!! Service was great on a busy day. Stash is my favorite restaurant in Mtl!
On a sub-sub zero, frigid Montreal day, we enjoyed our lunch at Stash Cafe. I had the platter of mixed perogies, which was delicious, and I enjoyed comparing the taste of the different fillings. The borscht soup was more like a broth or consomme, very thin, so I found that a bit disappointing, I was expecting a more hearty soup, and although it was well flavored, it was not as substantial as I had hoped for on such an Arctic day. I would not recommend their borscht. However, everything else in terms of food and service were excellent. My husband and kids enjoyed their lunches as well. Next time we'd like to come in the evening and hear the piano player.

Polish cuisine is not well-known, yet Stash Café has been established in Old Montreal for over 40 years. Embark on a journey to Warsaw and discover placki (small potato pancakes), pierogi (stuffed pasta), Sledz (pickled herring), krokiety (stuffed pancakes), golabki (cabbage rolls) and kotlet drobiu (breaded chicken breasts), not to mention sauerkraut on the side. Interior stone walls, exposed wooden beams, posters and decorations create the look of a Polish cafe. Each evening, a pianist accompanies dinner with pop songs, contemporary music, or jazz tunes. Performers rotate through, so you can return another night for a different musical atmosphere.
