Modern Korean restaurant in the Westend just off of Robson. We tried their BBQ beef rib meal for two plus Bu Dae Ji Gae which was surprisingly not spicy. Both dishes were flavorful and delicious. The service was good. My only complaint is if you sat in the middle tables you sit on backless stools so you could not hang your coat. I am eyeing their set menu on my next visit. Read more

My wife is a sushi expert. She has tried almost every sushi restaurant in the downtown vicinity on multiple occassions and quite often the staff will know who she is. That being said, I definitely trust her opinion on Sushi and right now this place is her favorite. It is a small sit-down/takeout restaurant on Robson street and it is fairly new, and the sushi is fantastic. The salmon is always fresh and since they don't serve famred salmon it is always amazing. The miso soup is complimentary with a minimum $5 order and the staff are always pleasant. The only downside is they don't have any cooked food, it is purely sushi with some noodle soup options. My boyfriend and I lined up here for lunch earlier this month (2nd visit), and had their miso (medium) ramen and he had the shio ramen. We both chose fatty pork which comes with the ramen for added flavour. There are always line-ups outside their door and you can't help but think it must be good if there are a dozen other ramen shops in the same vicinity with zero line-ups at others! They are extremely busy. If you are parking, expect to put enough coins in the meter to stay at least 1.5 hours (line-up time, wait time after ordering, eat time). They are a Japanese run shop with all-Japanese staff, and have the best ramen I have ever had. Next time, I will have their miso ramen (again) with their heavy base for more richness in the broth. Stay away from their gyoza, however. They buy this frozen from a supermarket and it tastes cheap. Read more

Restaurants in Westin Bayshore Hotel Vancouver BC

Dining out to a new restaurant is always a gamble. Am I going to have a good time? Is the food any good? How does this restaurant rate? Before you base your choice on the menu plastered outside of the restaurant window or from someone you just met off the street, here are some simple tips to guide your stomach to the best restaurants.

Tips on how to find restaurants in Westin Bayshore Hotel Vancouver BC

  • Restaurant reviews: Online and newspaper restaurant reviews in the food or lifestyle section are your best asset when trying to find top restaurants in your area. Most reviews rate the restaurant by atmosphere, portion size, price and service. These independent restaurant reviewers have no one to please but their finicky tastes.
  • The concierge always knows: If you are travelling in Westin Bayshore Hotel Vancouver BC, your hotel’s concierge or hotel staff will be able to find restaurants that suit your taste buds and budget. Are you looking for something ethnic, local or for a fine dining experience? The concierge will be able to lead you in the right direction and even place a reservation for you or place a takeout order if dealing with delivery restaurants.
  • Call ahead: If you have specific dietary needs, food allergies or need to host a large party, call the restaurant of your choice ahead of time and be specific. You don’t want to ruin your evening dining out because the restaurant didn’t have a highchair for little Tommy.
  • Ask the neighbourhood: Most local food and wine vendors deal directly with the restaurants in your neighbourhood. Ask them about the restaurants they deal with and the kinds of meals they serve.
  • Sense of adventure: Your nose is your best tool when out to find
restaurants in your neighbourhood. If you smell something delicious coming from a restaurant, follow your nose and discover a new place to add to your list – make your own review and keep a list for future reference.
