I work in customer service, so I understand that things don't always go as planned. It is how an establishment deals with their mistakes that really shows how good they are , in my humble opinion. We go to Swiss Chalet all the time, the food is always hot and delicious and up to the Swiss Chalet Standard, the service is usually pretty good, quick for sure and the restaurant smells good and is clean. We often order take out from this location, and we have had a few problems, orders not being filled correctly, no gravy for the poutine, little things like that. One time we ordered and they called back 30 minutes later to tell us there was a snow storm and the delivery person went home! Needless to say I complained. I got a personal response from the Manager appologizing for our bad experience and comping us for two 1/4 chicken dinners! WOW, I thought that was just great. I get that mistakes are made, but I have never had anyone take responsibility and compensate me so quickly and politely! Since then we have ordered a few times and we haven't had anymore problems. I am a local. Truthfully, we havn't eaten at the Bruce in over 6 years. We just didn't like the atmosphere inside for our family. Recently, I heard from a friend that it's improved greatly. So, we decided to give it another try. Our family went for wing night. We LOVED IT! Wings are big, plump & juicy. The saucy ones (medium & hot) weren't over sauced-just right. The dry rub ones (cajun rub) were delicious! Our daughter ordered chicken fingers & fries. They were not processed chicken fingers; but the real deal-always love to see that. The fries are awesome-FRESH CUT!! Our son ordered the mini burgers & chips. They were yummy! You can't beat homemade burgers. My only complaint (reason for 4 stars) would be that the waitress could've been a little more attentive. She didn't smile much and at times we wondered if she forgot about us. That being said, it didn't spoil the meal by any means. We all agreed that we'll be back. Can't wait to go back for kids eat free Sunday. It was so much better than going to our "chain" restaurants. This was all freshly made & delicious. We're so glad we gave the Bruce another try, this is our new favorite supper spot in town. Read more
