The best veal sandwich I've ever had, and at a reasonable price to boot. I wondered about getting something on the side with it, but after it came out I'm glad I didn't - it was huge! Very friendly staff as well.
I went here after seeing the sign and reading varying reviews. The bun was good, a regular Portuguese style bun that was large enough to fit to 2 slices of veal. The Veal was ok, a run of the mill thin piece of breaded and deep fried veal. No flavour of its own. The sauce was ok, but again nothing special. The price was $9 for the sandwich which cost extra for a single slice of cheese, which was filling but I used to get a similar sandwich for $4 in Ottawa. I won't go back, its definitely not worth the price. Especially since everything was relatively flavourless. Won't go back and will be sure to tell people not to bother going.
If you like a tasteless soggy kaiser with bland tomato sauce and veal, this is the place to go. When we commented that we might have liked the sandwich without the sauce (after throwing out the soggy bun) we were told that we should have ordered it on the side. We were also surprised at having to pay for extra toppings.
For the past year Sinatra's has been a Thursday treat for us. We are greeted by Dave and Julie and their other friendly staff as we walk through the door and have always had a positive experience. We have tried all of the sandwiches on the menu and have never been disappointed. Our favourite though is the veal sandwich. It is made fresh to your specifications and is absolutely outstanding. We have been to Californias many times in the past and in our opinion there is no comparison. Sinatra's by far has the best sandwich. The portion size is much larger and the veal is a better quality. I don't understand why people would go to a sandwich shop like Subway or Mr. Sub and get some weighed portion of mystery meat put in a microwave for 30 seconds and then put on a bun when you can have a nice fresh sandwich at Sinatra's. Keep up the good work Dave and Julie, your Sandwiches truly are the best!
my husband and I go to sinatra's at least once every couple of weeks and this time we took our kids, it was great and the owners were very friendly - highly recommend
